Are you interested in avalanche awareness or would you like to start ski touring and freeriding off-piste?

How does an avalanche form, and what is needed for one to trigger? What does typical avalanche terrain look like? How do I plan a tour in the current avalanche situation? How do I search for a buried victim using an avalanche transceiver (LVS)?

Requirements
  • Safe and independent riding in the entire freeride area Arosa Lenzerheide

  • Interest in avalanche science

  • No touring experience is required, this is a basic course

equipment
  • Touring skis or snowboard (splitboard or snowshoes) possible

  • Touring equipment

  • Avalanche equipment (LVS, shovel, probe) including backpack

  • Food for on the go during tours

  • Weather-appropriate clothing (also suitable for ascent)

  • Sunscreen and sunglasses
